Final Selection...need some suggestion

I have made my mind & it all matches my budget. Here it is,

CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE (7.6k)
Mobo - Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H (4k)
GPU - XFX/Sapphire 5770 (9K) (or HD 5750/4850 if I'm short on cash) (7.5-8k)
PSU - Corsair VX450W (4k)

RAM - 2GB Corsair DDR2 800MHz (another 2GB DDR2 800MHz in a month or two) (2.6k)
HDD - 500GB Seagate SATA (2k)

Now, I have some alternatives to go for lower components to be able to use the money in another component, e.g.
for CPU I can go for Phenom II X4 945 (6.9k), for RAM I can go for Kingston (2.3k) & I can opt for HD 5750 or 4850 (7.8k) instead of a HD 5770. My total budget is 28k.

I'll be using my old 19" Syncmaster (MYST) & cabinet (for now as I don't have any more money for cabby). I'll be playting GTAIV, AC2, SC:Conviction & so on without lagging.

Now, tell me what components can I compromise upon & which I should stay with.

Change your processor to x2 555 and go for a ddr3 setup this will serve you well plus
You can unlock the processor to a phenom 2 x4 965 .

Thanks for the suggestion but I am gonna go between X4 945 & 955 only. I'll be using this systems for 1 year (to max 1.5 year which is unlikely), suggest me regarding the GPU amongst HD 4850, 5750 or 5770.

Regarding GPU i wud say buy the best that ur budget allows and in ur case as per listing its the HD 5770.
Suggesting it over HD 4850 cuz u'll have the advantage of DX11, whatever that maybe.

if your buyin anything go for the best . dont buy a new cabby or anew monitor it will be a waste of money does the Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H support 955be out of the box or do u need a bios upgrade???? me too planin to buy this cpu+ mobo but it has only 1 ps/2 port

CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 945 (7k)
Mobo - Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-US2H (4.6k) --> SMC, Delhi. Go for AM3, DDRIII mobo. No point going for DDRII with your budget.
RAM - Corsair Valu RAM 2GB DDR3 1333MHz (2.8k) --> TheITWares, Mumbai
PSU - Corsair VX450W (4k)
Total: 18.4k

So get the HD5770 Hawk from SMC for 9.6k.
If u are gonna O.C it very high then the 955's Unlocked multiplier would come in handy. So get the 955BE in that case. Just make sure u get the newer 95w version.

Sorry forget to edit it out of ur post. Corrected now. As its clear from the last line of my previous post if u gonna do no OC or mild OC then go with 945. If if u gonna push the clocks close to 4GHz go for 955BE.

A 4850 can handle most games at medium to high settings at 1080p but am not sure about Ultra High settings. a 4870 can surely handle all.

he has a point !

i was in the same situation 2 days back dude !

and today i have a hawk 5770 with a x4 B55 @ 3.0 ghz :)

One more thing, I have 2x 1GB Transcend DDR2 RAMs @ 800MHz (CL5). Should I opt for new 4GB DDR2 kit from Corsair or Kingston or should I add up with the older 2x 1GBs of Transcend? I am willing to spend around 5k for RAM.

I don't believe in Gambling with Core Unlocking & since I will be using this system for 1 year or so (as I mentioned before) it's pointless to shift to DDR3 now; after a year either I will have lot's of money to spend or no time for gaming at all so depending upon that I will build-up a future proof system then.

I am going for these now,

CPU - AMD Phenom II 955 BE

Mobo - Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H

GPU - HD 5770 (XFX or Sapphire)

PSU- Corsair VX450

Ram - 2x 2GB Kingston DDR2 800MHz

In next 2 months,

CM Gladiator 600

Seagate 500GB SATA

CM Extra Cooling Fans

Total is coming to about 37.5k including Tax.

Grab a Sapphire. It has good A.S.S. from Aditya Infotech unlike XFX which is handled by Rashi.

Get a 2GB DDRII stick. Anyways u are not gonna go for a 4GB kit. There isnt much of difference if u dont go dual channel. Go for a 2GB stick along with your 2*1 GB ones. This way u will say a little.
