Firefox Win 7 pin to taskbar issue

Hi guys, I have pinned the firefox program in my system taskbar like below-

But when I open it, it opens in another version of the taskbar like below

How do I make it open in the first pinned instance itself? Is there a method here? Thanks for helping me out :-D
 
I tried pinning FF and it pinned just fine. Clicking on it opens a tab against that same icon, and not elsewhere. How exactly did you pin it? Did you drag or did you right click and selected the pin option?
 
Try this. Unpin FF from your task bar. Open Firefox from the menus or wherever your shortcut is. Now on the icon that comes in the taskbar, right click and select the pin option. Close the browser, click the pinned icon and see. It should now open the same instance

I got the same issue you are reporting when I pinned from the Start Menu -> All Programs. Follow the instructions I gave and you should be fine
