Audio Fixing my AKG K601

Hi Guys,

I wanted your advice. I've my trusty old AKG K601 Headphone which I used every day. It has served me well over the years. Now it has developed an issue where the cable meets the headphone, there is a distortion whenever the cable moves (the audio comes and goes due to movement). I can temp fix it by wiggling the cable but it is forever recurring.

Any advice on fixing it? Should I take it to AKG fellows? Or does anyone know a good repair person etc? Is it fixable by me?

So, wanted to close the story - I got my AKG K601 fixed in Mumbai from the official service centre. Good guys, lovely to chat with also. It was a simple issue but needed opening up and rewiring it by experts.

My Akg earphone bundled with Samsung s8 has a loose connection, there no sound in the left earphone due to loose wire. Can it be repaired at Akg service center?

Yes, definitely. Though you must check with them. These guys are AKG Pro audio fellows and not consumer audio. The earphone can definitely be fixed by any audio repair person.
