We have new sig rules on TechEnclave. This has been necessitated by the fact that members have been reporting that they are not clear about the rules and what they can put in their sigs. I hope that the new rules are clear and should not lead to any confusion.
The main community rules have been updated to reflect the rules

SIGNATURES and USER NAMES. While we have allowed the use of signatures as a form of expression, its hoped that you would not misuse the same and adhere to the following guidelines
Graphics in signatures should be no larger than 100 pixels high by 500pixels wide.

An additional 2 lines of text are allowed but must be size small (size=1).

If using text only, keep lines to no more than 7 in small size text and ALWAYS in a horizontal stand.

File size should be no greater than 40KB this includes any text or images used in your signature.
Signatures outside this limit will be edited and/or removed. Please remember, no ****ographic, obscene or controversial subject matter of any kind (this includes political commentary). Forum sigs are to be used respectfully, TechEnclave already has to display ads to cover the running costs, so don't annoy our members by making your sig into some sort of web ad. (ie: Advertising in your sig is not allowed).We allow sigs only to non advertising personal websites or to blogs. If you are posting such links in your sig then please make sure you have only one outgoing link.

The decision of the moderators in this regard will be final.

In addition to the above.
Maybe you have noticed that last weeks there are a lot more spam-like posts in the tech forums than before.Spam-like posts include, but are NOT limited to:

the rules below are valid for tech sections only.​

• senseless posts, which most of the time smell to spam as well. This are posts like 'lol', 'hahahah', smilies, ... or any other reply that justs add nothing to the thread, this is valid for tech sections only.
• Posts where you say 'this has to be posted in forum xx' We have moderators for these things. If you think that a certain posts / thread violates one of the forum rules, then use the report function.
• Asking new members to introduce themselves, acting like a moderator asking members to do this or that, thats why we have a large staff so they can deal with such matters. please let the staff handle such situations.
• When a question has been asked, or a problem has been solved, then do not reply with the same answer
• Relipes like this is "old" , "this is so old" , "who Cares", "My 1000 post". You are requested to report such threads.
• Trolling and/or attempting to bait others into a flame war will not be tolerated. Any posts we deem to fall in this category will be deleted.
• Spamming in announcements and feedback sections. Please refrain from doing so as the sections are meant for either important news or feedback to the developers. Spamming in those sections won't be tolerated.

The Signature rules & the above short summry of rules will be implemented in 5 days time to give you time to change your sigs to corrrect specifications

Please try to understand that all this is for the betterment of this forum. New users especially in the tech sections don't like seeing spam and trolling. Its with that in mind that these rules have been formulated.

Rules and Guidelines for Market section

Welcome to the Market Section of TechEnclave.com. Here are some simple guidelines everyone should know before posting.



1. You may NOT put up the following for sale

• warez or bootleg software distribution
  
• Microsoft CD or COA (Certificate Of Authenticity). You must sell the software as it was originally packaged.
  
• alcohol, tobacco, firearm, or any weapons sales.
  
• p0rnographic/adult content items.
  

Anyone who knowingly buys, sells, trades, or distributes any of the things mentioned above through this forum will be suspended or permanently banned at our discretion.
2. You may ONLY post in the thread IF you are interested in buying or selling, or have something positive to say. You may NOT make any flaming or useless posts. No form of thread crapping/trolling will be tolerated from now on. Incase you feel the price is too high or something is bothering you kindly inform the seller and the admin/mod about the same through PM so that necessary action be taken.
3. If you are selling something, it is mandatory that you quote a price.
4. Please update your threads when you have sold your items or found what you wanted. If the item has been sold or you want a new thread to be started then inform the admin/mods about locking the thread.
5. If your thread grows too long or too old for easy navigation, start a new thread, and ask the old one to be locked away. If necessary, you can edit the original posts to include a link from one thread to the other.



Read the rules before you make a post. Posting in the Market Section means you have read the rules and fully comply with it.

TechEncalve.com merely is a platform to help you all offload the “extra baggage†you may have and/or procure something that you have been thinking of. One may NOT hold TechEnclave.com responsible for any deals gone fraudulent. Of course, we would definitely want to hear from you about any bad experiences you have had.



Posts made in this section that do not comply with the rules will be immediately deleted without any reason being given to the poster and may lead to temporary or permanent ban for the poster.

Your signature may not advertise a competing site, or alternative to TechEnclave. This has been an issue lately. Staff are aware of it and will take action against any offending signatures we may see.

This is not an open directory, if you love slashdot.org or elite uber tech then good for you, we dont want to see it here, this is not an tech advertising site!!!
