I was a victim of a Market poster Vishruth

He made me a fool for nearly 3 weeks saying he is selling his hardware and coming to bangalore on a weekend to give the items, but after I had already purchased highend items at nearly 60K+, at last he stepped back with some dumb reason.

I think this type of users must be taught a lesson.

I got a cousin to bring me a lot of really cool hardware from the US when he came back to India by the end of October. But since then, due to a whole flood of personal problems, I haven't been able to use any of the hardware for more than 24 hours. So I'm selling it all. Here's what I have to sell:

AMD X2 4400+ OEM edn. - Rs.25k.

Corsair XMS TWINX 2x1GB with Platinum Heatspreader (3200c2pt) - Rs.13k

BFG 7800GTX OC - full boxed set including FarCry and an official BFG T-Shirt - 25k.

shreedhara_ca, i dont understand, so you paid him and he failed to deliver, if yes, did he send you your money back ?

Or you did he back out before any payment was made. If yes, then that cant be helped as it is sellers wish to go back on his deal as this is not a legally binding contract. The market section depends on Trust.

anyways, Officially TE is not responsible or to be held liable for any transaction taking place in the Market section, check the rules.

@ Sreedhara : Please specify if you PAID the member before he backed out of the deal. If you havent, I see no point in feeling sore about a lost deal :)

I checked his Market thread, and you had not posted in the thread - which means the deal wasnt even done on TE. Either way please read the rules for the Market section, as dipdude mentioned - the Market is merely a platform to enable users to buy/sell stuff and TE holds no responsibility for what happens.

Also, your thread title is very deceiving - what does an unfinished deal have to do with "Grey Activities"? I have renamed the thread title, please keep a check on what you name your threads.
 
What the...? This is utterly preposterous!

First of all - you contacted me via ebay. I listed the same hardware on TE also, but what you are talking about has nothing to do with TE.

Yet, I must defend myself and therefore I'm posting the following response to your allegations against me:

I gave you the reason for why I wasn't selling my hardware. I called you personally and told you about it. You had no problems with it then. You said nothing about your 60k purchase when I called you. All you said then was, "Ok, fine" or something along those lines. Now, all of a sudden, you want to teach me a lesson. What am I to make of this kind of behaviour?

In order to defend myself, I'll reiterate my reason for backing out of the deal. But before that, I have to take care of another allegation you made against me - you said I made you wait for three weeks.

That's totally untrue. I kept in touch with you via email and phone calls only for about one week only. The first mail you sent me from ebay was on the 27th of January. That was a Friday. On that same day you said I could drop by your place to deliver my hardware on weekends. I then called you and told you that I could come around to your place that very weekend (i.e. 28/29 January) to deliver my hardware. You said you were moving to a new house, and therefore I'd have to come on the following weekend. That wasn't my fault. You made yourself wait. You have no right to blame me for that.

I called you again on the morning of the following Saturday, the 4th of February to tell you that I wasn't selling you my hardware. I haven't spoken with you ever since, nor have I sent or received any mails to or from you after that. A week, for your kind information, comprises of seven days. And 27/01/2006 - 04/02/2006 do NOT make up three weeks!

I was selling my hardware for two reasons:

1. I wasn't using it.
2. I needed money to buy something else.

The money I needed for the above mentioned something else got arranged without my needing to sell my hardware and secondly, I found out from sidewindercomputers.com that they owed me 260 USD from a deal I had with them in early 2005 and that now I could use all that money to buy stuff from them! I decided to make use of that money to place an order with them for quite a lot of cooling hardware for my rig. That's why I decided not to sell my hardware to you. And I honestly told you about all of this on the phone when I called you... I had told you initially that I would be selling you my hardware and eventually didn't, and for that I sincerely apologised to you when I called you for the last time on the 4th of this month. But you also have to realise that if you hadn't told me on the 27th to not come to Bangalore to deliver the hardware to you on the last weekend of January, I would have sold you the stuff.

The gist of the matter:

1. The deal wasn't initiated from TE, but it was done through ebay.

2. I never accepted any cash from you for the hardware.

3. I didn't you wait for three weeks. I wanted to deliver the hardware immediately, but you made yourself wait for a week during which time the deal fell.
I think I've written enough to clear my name.
 
Vishruth a very detailed and honest reply, well done mate :hap2: and rest assured you have cleared your name with your emphatic reply ;)

And shreedhara mate, next time dont make allegations based on half truths, cannot believe you dragged TE into this with your Irresponsible Statements.
