Korea Republic’s passionate supporters are no strangers to nail-biting tension. For these fans, known as the Red Devils, there are normally two certainties associated with their team's final group game at major competitions.
The first is that they will need to win their own last match to stay in contention. And the second? That other results will have to go their way. As a consequence, the build-up to such occasions sees the Korean press invariably devote copious column inches to the myriad possible outcomes, and leaves bamboozled fans reaching for their calculators.
France, however, are not opponents to be taken lightly, and very few impartial observers will be staking a fortune on Dick Advocaat’s charges picking up all three points against the European heavyweights. Korea Republic’s midfield dynamo Park Ji-Sung, of Manchester United, is fully aware of just how difficult it will be. “Every one of France’s players poses a threat," he said. "It’s not a question of just stopping star players like (Thierry) Henry – we have to contain the whole French team.â€
However, if Park and his team-mates are feeling the pressure, they are certainly not letting it show. Just take captain and goalkeeper Lee Woon-Jae's vow to the fans before setting off for Germany that the Warriors would “reach the Round of 16 with three group winsâ€.
this will be an intresting duel.. pick ur team
