high price............

This is one of the lesser known cards in the 8800 Series. Based on the G92. When this was rebranded as a 9600 GSO, the first version has the exact same core, but was later changed to G94 and reduced shader power(the original 9600GSO, like the 8800 GS has 96 shaders)
This thing OC's really well, with many people pushing it to 800Mhz+ stable.
With a moderate OC, it'll keep up with a standard 9600GT easily.
If this was the 768MB version, it would be a steal at this price, however, 4.5k is not a bad quote. You could always use the PM function to see if there can be any reduction, instead of posting here :)

The 8800GS 384 Mb is at par with the 8800GTS 320Mb. The 8800GS is based on the G92 chip.

It uses less stream processors and has smaller memory bus as compared to the 8800GTS, but higher clocks. So basically with the improved chip, it turns out to be around the same as 8800GTS (G80) 320Mb.
