CPU/Mobo Garbled display - Can it be a faulty RAM ?

Hello guys, When i started my PC one fine morning, my INTEL ORG. 865GSA mobo coupled with 2.66 dual core proccy, with 512+256 transcend DDR RAM, hung at the INTEL LOGO screen and didnt enter windows... After sometime i restarted it and it was Ok. So i thought that it could be some loose conduct, and opened my pc, removed the power connector, sata, ODD and the RAMs and re-installed. Now the display is garbled. So switched off PC then again the same garbled display. So removed the mobo out of the cabby after entirely disconnecting all the connectors and now reinstalled in the cabby. As for now its ok.

My question is, can a faulty ram be liable for such a garbled display ?. Or is it like my mobo and or the onboard gfx/proccy/RAM are giving up ? . The entire setup is around 4.5 yrs old... Could it be an issue with the onboard gfx ??

I noticed that in the BIOS, the proccy temp hovers around 60c while the fan speed is <2000RPM ?. Is this fine ? ANd i find two temp (ZOne 1 and zone 2) which one should be my primary concern ?

Plz analyze and tell guys...

Thanx in advance..

first check your RAMs with memtest to identify any issues.
IMHO the display problem like yours is associated with GFX.
regarding proccy temperature, just check the specification of your proccy & see what is the safe max temp for it. You can also try changing the TIM & reseating the HSF.
If you still face problem, a screenshot/snap will be helpful to identify the actual problem.

As for now there are no issues. I checked with memtest 3.50 and it dint find any errors, however i ran only the default test which got completed in about half an hour.. I downloaded the latest version of memtest and i customized the test to 9 (option is 0 - 9). Actually cant understand what the software was doing with my memory and i can see just the elapsed time without any progress in the percentage for one hr.. This situation is with version 4.10 of memtest...
