They have regular $1-$2 domain deals. Just google $1 godaddy .com, and you should be able to find the coupon codes.

Dont go :| They have got crap DNS. Godady gets done within 2 mins. Bigrock took hours.

No free privacy, but they regularly send out 30% off coupons, so they work out much cheaper than bigrock.

You can purchase domain from any registrar (Godaddy / Bigrock/ any other) and get it transferred to your favorite registrar after 60 days.
Enjoy first year promo price.

You can always go for 3rd party DNS service, for eg Namecheap FreeDNS which is what I use for all my domains.
