Insanely Awesome!!

Seagate has released a version of Disc Wizard and Maxtor's Max Blast 5, but what makes these utilities highly on the "me want" list is the fact that both are based on the OEM version of the excellent True Image app. Disc Wizard and Max Blast utilities now offer a plethora of options that give people options previously offered only by commercial applications. Disc Wizard/Max Blast feature disk drive cloning, full disk imaging, formatting drives, creating partitions, erasing all the data on the drive - for the best price of them all.

There is a grand total of 14 supported languages, and is totally free for owners of hard drives manufactured by Seagate or companies owned by Seagate. You need to have at least one Seagate or Maxtor drive in order for this utility to work, but worst case scenario would be using those external USB 2.0 drives by Seagate... when it comes to distribution, you can find this utility on CDs that are shipping with retail drives, or simply download the latest version.

Can anyone here answer this question?

My system has a 320GB Seagate as the boot drive and a WD 500 GB HDD. Using DiskWizard I would normally save the OS image on the WD. In case my boot drive dies, I would need to use DiskWizard and restore the image on the WD. At this time, there would be no Seagate drive in my system.

Will DiskWizard work?

please can u tell me what does the true image do?

I hope you see this answer since it is after so many days.

I have never used true image but I believe it is similar to Norton Ghost. So I'll explain a bit based on my use of Ghost.

1. When you install your system on a new drive, you have to go ahead and install all applications and programs on it too. Some of these would be licensed and you may have used the serial number multiple times already. Some cases you may no longer have the original install pack from which you installed the program.

2. There may be times when installing a new program on a stable running system causes the system to start misbehaving big time.

3. A virus strike may cause your OS to be taken down and made virtually unusable.

In all such cases such kind of software becomes useful. You use the software to create a backup image of your OS partition. Each time you install a new software, you take a fresh backup. Organise these backups carefully.

When any of the above mentioned conditions occur, you only need to restore your OS partition with a suitable backed up image and you're ready to go. No need to install everything again. No need to provide serial numbers and register everything. No botheration if you don't have the install set of some software you had installed before.

If someone else can add to this or give a better explanation please go ahead.

Will DiskWizard work?

it will not work if there is no similar sized partition as the seagate os partiton on the wd hdd. you will need the exact same size partition or a brand new disk which can be formatted to match the old disk to restore the image.
