Hello all

Since none of the new intel chipsets allow SLi the only way to have a Dual card is Crossfire, since i already use a ATI card i know them pretty well than nVidia. My doubt is....

Will a Crossfire setup hold me for coupla years? i would play the games at 1650*1050 Res , with High to medium (depending on the game), AA and AF is not the primary concern, but smooth frame rate is.

The 680i/780i have a lot of bugs so i wont be going for them. so give me your valuable suggestion.

Thank you.

it depends on the card you put it crossfire :D
you can go for a dual 3870 setup or even i single 8800gtx would suffice i think for a few years

if you are buying in india it would be easier to get a gtx compared to ati cards

no need of going crossfire or sli its just not worth it for the time being get a 9 series card later on this year or a good ATI no need of crossfiring them. sli or crossfire setup tends to decrease 1 cards performance by 13%

^^What is that? Crossfire Scales better than nVidia and its far better at High resolutions and IQ than a 8800Ultra, so i would suggest a 3870 in CF and it'll get u going for some time while the single 8800 will not, so its better to go for that.

1600x1200 (1.92 Megapixels) ~ 1650x1050 (1.73 Megapixels)

Crysis FPS ~ 55 HD3870 crossfire Medium settings
~ 44 fps for 8800GT (single) Medium Settings

Both setup perform over 30fps (smooth gameplay)

Source: Legit Reviews

If Crysis is considered as next generation baseline game consider the costs involved with both setups.

Single HD3870 dipped below 30fps while 8800GT remained about 30fps on average.

bleh!!

i'll tell you sumthing else

if you keep AA at absolute 0, ati cards will rock nvidia anyday...

they only suck at AA coz of their different tesselators or sumthing that dont get used.... i dont know a computer science friend told me :D
