Graphic Cards GFX Suggestion Required , 7-8K

A friend of mine is looking for suggestion on adding a GPU to his existing setup.

Setup: Intel C2Q 9650/ 4GB DDR2/ Seasonic 520W/ Dell U2414H.

The motherboard is a PCIE 2.0 support only.

Just want to look at GFX suggestions that will NOT BOTTLENECK the system.

Playing games of genre FPS, Racing, Strategy, Sports.
Desktop: High, 1080p
Game Setting: Medium, 720p
Budget of 7-8K, even lower is fine.

He is not looking to upgrade the system at least any time soon.

My suggestion was a AMD 7770, is this good enough or anything better is still there, open to second purchases if its VFM deal!

HD7770 is the best you can get for 8k. Get Sapphire or Asus model with probably GDDR5 memory.

Would a R7 260X, be better any day considering the fact that he is not going to upgrade for the next couple of years? But is the purchase of the same justified at 10k? Or is there a better competition from any other at the same price point?

260X is basically a rebranded 7770 GHz edition. At 10k, HD7790 is better deal.

^ The 250X is a rebranded 7770. The 260X is a tweaked 7790.
