I had installed ethernet cables all over home, now looking for gigabit switch. Please suggest good gigabit switch with 16 ports. I am planning to installed cameras after some days. Now I dont want to invest a lot in switch having POE features. Thanks
 
I had discussed issue about low trasnfer rate with vivek eariler.
My current setup is Asus RTN13 - TP Link SG1016D Switch - Local systems.
I am getting only 3Mbps to 5 Mbps transfer rate while copying files from one sytem to another. Both systems has gigabit lan card.

Have you done the test from PC - PC . let's eliminate the switch and test. What's the approx distance between the system ?
 
Mahesh had spoken to me earlier. He wanted to copy files from a USB device attached to the N13, to which I said, you wont get more than 2-4MBps. As for the system to system, I believe one is a media player.
 
For the usb part nothing can be done. That's the optimal speed I guess. For media player streaming should not be an issue.
 
Vivek I am having same issue while copying from PC to media player. Both having gigabit speed port and connected to switch.

Check from PC to PC and confirm the issue is not related to the switch.

Check media player to PC and see speed. The media player may not have a high write speed.
