Gionee is a popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer that has finally launched it's first product in India. Introducing the Gionee GPad G1. The name can be slightly misleading as this device isn't a tablet but a phablet instead. At 5 inches, the phone falls under the smallest phablet qualifying size category.
Gionee GPad G1

The Gionee GPad G1 is Gionee's first product launch in India. The one problm is it's timing. Such devices had launched a couple of months ago, as well as the specifications. These specifications have become outdated now, especially for it's price tag of Rs. 10,999. Nevertheless, the specifications:

Gionee GPad G1 Specifications

  • 1 GHz dual core ARM Cortex A9 CPU
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 5" WVGA (800 x 480) display
  • 8 MP rear camera, auto focus
  • 720p video recording
  • VGA front facing camera
  • 4 GB of internal storage
  • expandable storage up to 32 GB via MicroSD card slot
  • 2,100 mAh battery
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Android 4.0 ICS is a downer. The display won't impress you as well with the WVGA resolution across 5 inches. The battery is big on the bright side. Apart from that, we have an unimpressive first product from Gionee.

The Gionee GPad G1 is listed on ManiacStore for Rs. 10,999.
