GizmoSphere and AMD have introduced a tiny X86 developer board called Gizmo board which packs desktop like performance in a tiny 4 square inch board.

The 4x4 inch form factor is also seen in Intel's Next Unit Of Computing ( NUC ) which had Core i3/i5 based processor. But that is said to cost almost double.

The Gizmo board is powered by AMD dual-core Brazos CPU running at 1GHz with built in Radeon HD 6250 graphics. There is 1GB DDR3 RAM on board with SATA, USB, PCI-E, Ethernet, VGA and Audio jacks.

The board provides a performance capacity of 52 gigaFLOPS (GFLOPS) at less than 10 watts.

The Gizmo board will cost $199 and it is available direct from the company's website. It is more expensive as compared to other options like Raspberry pi but those are ARM based solutions, this might be useful when X86 is required and offers more performance also.
