This is an off shoot of this THREAD

Since we could not get common consensus regarding which model to buy in the above mentioned thread, I deceided to freeze on this model and create a GO for it.

add to that the need for a voltage convertor .. cause american's freaking like to do everythin in their own way .. ;)

a fsk convertor and a voltage convertor are what turns me off from buyin one of these..
 
Am interested in this, however I am quite not able to understand this^^. If I am paying 2200+shipping for a cordless phone, I would expect it to have Callerid feature out of the box.

Pls keep in mind I don't have much knowledge about cordless phones...
 
1) Any phone that you get from the US would need a DTMF to FSK converter. I'm trying to source it from Lamington Road. I'll set up a GO for that when I have more info. Shouldn't cost us more that 300 - 400 like WickedTA pointed out.

2) As far as the voltage is concerned, if the adapter that comes with it doesn't support a range of 110 - 220 volts, then instead of getting a voltage converter, I would suggest getting a local multi-voltage adapter. They are extremely well built (the Rs. 250-350 range) and get the job done for much cheaper.

All in all, with all this, it's still a great deal compared to any other options available to us. Most of the DECT 6.0 phones I find in the Indian grey market cost in excess of Rs. 3500.00

Look at any review of any phone on Amazon. All of them have a fair number of negative reviews.

This is the only one that is resonably priced.

got this about 1 month ago. It's easy to program, sounds good and even looks good. I read in one review that said "Ithough it was real stainless steel" WHAT! It's a phone not a Grill. I didn't give it 5 stars only cause i haven't had it very long. Buy it and give a job to a fourth grader in China.:hap5:
 
I'll talk to KMD again. Ofcourse this is the highest price possible. If there is any reduction I will inform you about it.
