GOG preservation program

I wonder why GOG doesn't offer regional pricing in India when it does so in other countries.
I suppose their decision is also based on how many Indian users purchase on their platform and it probably isn't much. On the other hand, being DRM-free, they expect a lot of piracy as well.

If it helps your conscience, you can buy something from them directly once in a while as it is really easy to get their DRM-free installers online otherwise.

Games are too cheap as well.
2 decades back my sister liked this game and many similar. https://www.gog.com/en/game/rollercoaster_tycoon_deluxe
1.19 $ is quite good to restore old memories.
I remember, even my sister used to play this game. I might still have the disc somewhere.

One weird thing I remember that she used to design hell crazy roller coasters in them and kids in the game would , shout, shriek and get terrified on the rides; and they would puke all over the place after getting off from the rides. :p

Yup same here, she liked zoo tycoon series a lot and there was another series building cities (don't recollect name as it's almost 2 decades ago)
I remember how I used to download these games at my work place, burn to disc and then install on home PC.

Great memories..

Wonder why that is... Could it possibly be because they don't have regional pricing? Who knows.

After paying for a game purchase, are they providing an iso file or how?

They do offer free game collections as well, so may be they use that to see potential users from a country? But yeah, there is a thread on their forum on this topic for over a decade, so they would have done it if they could, at least for the titles published by them.

Can we simply pay using our credit cards and enjoy the games?
Yes, as long as your card supports international transactions (and you have enabled international transactions, and set sufficient limits for your transaction amount).

Yes, during sales the really old games can be cheap enough that regional pricing doesn't matter, but the USD pricing for new games often makes GOG significantly more expensive for newer purchases. If they had regional pricing I'd probably buy almost everything from them.

How much difference is there on average between regional pricing and source county pricing?

How much difference is there on average between regional pricing and source county pricing?
Depends on publisher or developer as they set regional pricing in Steam or Epic. Some cases it can be as much as 300% of the US pricing.

Example. : https://steamdb.info/app/1368820/
Price changes are usually updated in Packages section but you can easily see all changes in price history.

Sample for RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3: Complete Edition. Indian steam prices are usually the cheapest in the world.

Turkey and Russia used to be the cheapest. Steam clamped down on it heavily last year, flagging accounts that have games from different regions. Also, they require payment methods issued in those countries now.

India usually is among the top 5 cheapest countries though some publishers ignore the suggested pricing and simply use the USD to INR conversion option.
