PC Peripherals Going for a new PSU...

:) Good Article....but it is a well established fact...That is just a vicious circle created by different companies to market their products

True. A PSU rating depends on the manufacturer. The 550W PSU may be even able to handle 1.5 times it's load.

Hence I stress the need for going for a PSU from the likes of Antec, CoolerMaster, OCZ etc. These companies generally underrate their PSUs. So, these PSUs may be even able to handle higher that rated loads. I selected my NeoHE after reading somewhere that it's components are rates to handle 800W-900W load(I can't validate that the whole PSU can handle this load however.)

Brands like Zebby, PowerSafe etc....I'm not so sure about. And generic PSUs,...well they can't handle more than half their rated output sometimes.

Edit: It would be interesting to see if anyone in TE has such a setup being powered by a 550W PSU or less.
