A: Sony Ericsson Cedar

My requirements are:
+ Good music phone
+ 5 MP+ camera preferably with flash
+ 3g tethering with Ubuntu
+ 5-10K. (May have to stretch to 10k :( )

Am biased with Sony Ericsson Cedar. Am assuming that with the Sony
brand Cedar will also be a good music phone. The only problem with
Cedar is its camera. Its only 2 MP and no flash.

I also have the following questions:
1. Has anyone tethered a 3g mobile with Ubuntu. What speeds do you
get?
2. What constitutes a good music phone.
3. Are Sony Ericsson really good music phones or just a brand name

And se phones have better music output than nokias.
I agree the SE phones have excellent music output better than nokia's music express edition. IMO SE walkman phones are better than most of the good mp3 players on the market.
Some of the phones in 5-7K categories are.

@fshaharyar: Thanks for pointing out the Zylo.

Am now more biased towards the Zylo. Its advantages are:
+ Walkman series
+ 3g and tethering
+ Support for flac music format

Disadvantages:
+ Higher camera
+ Flash with camera
+ 3.5" jack. Will have to buy a converter.
- Does Sony also see a 3.5" converter? Had gone to the Sony shop and
they suggested that I buy a headphone for Rs. 1000+ which will
have the converter too.

Earlier I had thought of going for SE Hazel. Since the Zylo is a
walkman series mobile and plays the FLAC format, I think I will go for the Zylo.

My questions are:

+ What really makes a good music phone?
- Have started a new thread for it.

+ Is there any other mobile that plays the FLAC

+ Can I install any other applications on the Zylo?

+ Can I install a flac player on the Hazel

+ Had checked out letsbuy.com and got the cheapest price; Rs. 6999 on
it. Would there be any other site/shop from where I can get a better
discount?

I don't think there are any good phones which support flac by default.

You can install only java applications on Hazel.

There is no java flac player.

Letsbuy has the best discount online. Use the coupon code "RCOMLSB" for 15% discount.
