Good quality ATB/Hybrid cycle for 15k.

Do not even think of Hercules if you want a good quality cycle. What do you use the bicycle for? If you are using it mainly on roads without offroad rides, do not even think of MTBs. They are heavy and sweat inducing. Look for hybrid commuter bikes or road bikes. I am saying this as I use Rockrider ST100. If you still want a MTB, check this kind of bikes. Hercules kind of brands give lot of features for less cost but these things are of inferior quality and you get lot of issues with gearing mechanism later.

Check Firefox Bad Attitude 8 and Firefox Spirit. Also, check if anyone is selling Btwin Triban RC100 (decathlon).

If you can extend your budget, go for one that has disc brakes. V-type brakes are pain in the ass to maintain. Ones on my bicycle gets misaligned regularly and rubs with wheel slowing me down.

I forgot to post my requirements. I'm looking for an ATB/Hybrid model.
I came across the Firefox Rapide 21S.

The Rodeo A250 does look heavy. It's design is bulky. I mentioned it only because a local cycle workshop was selling it and I thought it would be good.

Great to know thanks.

Welcome. Yeah, FF Rapide 21S is another great bike. Check the Riverside 500 as well from btwin. For some 4k more, you are getting disc breaks as well. Compare the two and see if you can find more options like these.

4k more is already a lot for a cycle for me. My original budget is only 15k.

I understand that electrical motor vehicles use disc brakes but does a cycle need one? What is the benefit of using one?
BTW is there a way to know what original tubes and tyres a cycle use? The ones which come from the manufacturer's side? Don't want to get scammed.

That bloody Hercules which you mentioned in OP was like 8-9k pre-covid. I have been meaning to purchase one since then and this exorbitant pricing while making sense during covid peak, it is absolutely unacceptable now.

Yes it does seem like the price increased by 4-5k during covid or whatever reason they wanna state.

Many got into (temporary) cycling during Covid times to get out etc. Bicycle sales spiked and as demand went up...

On this note, you will find lot of used bikes on sale as many could not sustain the habit of cycling.

Thanks for the idea.
Guys if you or any of your friend got any used cycle to sell (ATB/Hybrid/City type) please feel free to contact me. We have two non-geared cycles which I want to replace.

Not in my area. This kind of sales seem to be regular in the bigger cities. If you happen to see good deals feel free to PM me the links.
Meanwhile I'll pay a visit to the local cycle market when I'm available.

Regarding Decathlon cycles, I noticed many negative reviews concerning spokes broken, what's up with that? I have had 4 cycles in my life, all from either Hero or Hercules and while I totally agree that they do not offer premium quality in any specific regard, at least in none of them spoke ever broke! I simply need a quality non-geared cycle with solid brakes (disc I mean) that's all, max I can spend is 12k or something. Anything available outside the Hero/Hercules/Stryder franchise?
I just had my 15 y.o Hero Ranger F1 DTB (yeah that's the name) serviced today but they said they cannot do anything for the front wheel gears as they are done and they won't be able to make them functional. It takes a tremendous effort to start it from a still state due to it being stuck in a high gear. With the current inflated prices it's so pressurising to purchase a new one with everything I want, like a geared one with disc brake and good suspension :(

I am using rockrider st100 for more than a year. Had no issues. Well, I do not make the bicycle jump over things and all, do not abuse it. The only issue was with tuning of gears and a local cycle mechanic fixed it for 50 rupees.

Thanks but it has V brakes I see. I will not get into them again.
