i would suggest that you go for a LG DVD player......i have been using it for the past one year....and i absolutely love the Player....it can play DIVX movies too.....and supports 5.1Ch....

Dont even THINK of touching philips... u can even skip philips showroom, rather than testing garbage.......

I am the owner of philips DVD player (3rd, though bought only once) so u can count on me.

I am also having philips no issues but service is like non-existent...

Why not go for samsung progressive scan model with upscaling capabilities (last time heard its was close to 7k)

OT: Try WD TV Media player if interested in xvid
