Google's Android event which was scheduled for Monday inNew Yorkhas been cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy.
A state of emergency has been declared due to the incoming storm. The event was supposed to take place on a waterfront pier near Manhattan bridge which is now in the evacuation zone.
According to TheVerge, Google has officially cancelled the event and issued the following statement
We are canceling our Monday morning event inNew Yorkdue to Hurricane Sandy. We will let you know our plans as soon as we know more.
So, the event will take place on a later date which Google has not announced yet. The event was expected to see some big announcements including the Nexus 4, Nexus 10 tablet, a 32GB Nexus 7 and of course next version of Android - 4.2.
