The Google Nexus S and Motorola Zoom were originally launched on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and 3.0 Honeycomb respectively. Both devices got two major updates in their lifetime, namely the Android 4.0 ICS and 4.1.2 Jelly Bean updates. Time has come for Google to finally lay these devices to rest.

It has been a really long and nice run for the Google Nexus S. Launched over 2 years ago on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, this once upon a time Google flagship smartphone has served enough with it's 4" of Super AMOLED goodness and old age single core power. The 512 MB of RAM combined with the old chipset was finally showing sings of aging and slowing down with the Jelly Bean update.

Many users were expecting Google to update the devices to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as it is more of an incremental update with new apps and features rather than something requiring a new batch of hardware. Nevertheless, it's sad news for Nexus S owners. However, these devices have already got more than any other device from their time did.

Expect Android 4.2 Jelly Bean ports and custom ROMs on these uber popular devices soon.
