Hi

I recently bought a cheap mp3 player from a memeber named Asheet. He told me that the mp3 player is having its own armband, earphone etc and works fine..So i agreed to buy it as a standby player for me in gym/jogging etc.

I made the payment on 27 December 2011 and he shipped it on 2 Jan 2012 via professioal courier and when I came back home(I stay out of city for job),I noticed that the mp3 player has not arrived yet even after 13 days.

Then I called professional courier 2 times after that and then they told me that they have not recieved any such consignment.and then I pmed Asheet and told him all the matter and he sorted it out and my brother at home recieved it on 18 Jan..and when I checked , it was all out of order, armband broken, earhook broken,Mp3 player cannot hold the charge even for 3 minutes as It immediately shuts down after plugging out the charger..

I pmed and finally called Asheet on fone and he told me that its courier company fault and he packed it in steel box etc (I recieved it in paper wrapping) and device was working well with him.(Though I wonder how courier company can change the built in battery of the mp3 player).and I requested him give me his address so that I can ship back the item.He told me that he will pm his address and asked me to check with another charger.and till that date I have not recived any of his pm.

I called him again on fone he was kinda rude and he told me that he is not responsible for that and also he has not recieved any of my pm.Though he is online at forum regularly but not replying my pms..

So I called up professional courier in his city (I obtained number from the tape in which the mp3 player packet was wrapped)and got his approximate address..I m shipping back his mp3 player back to him.

Please give me what to do,Though the item costs 600 Rs but still I need guidance as i am feeling cheated.

I am also attaching the conversation archive and can also attach the conversation screenshots from the inbox.

1) Do not ship anything back till he sends his address to you himself.

2) Post clear pics of the accessories you are not satisfied with.

3) Post links of the sale thread.

^^ Also, don't make any payment until you receive full name, address and telephone no. of the seller for your future deals. Whenever you buy anything, ask for complete address along with the bank account details.

Hmm copying this to member feedback...As he is not replying me back again and has kept mp3 player as well as money...

Think this should be in feedback section.

#darksmart, going by the pics, the player looks quite well-used as opposed to what the seller had said. No way such a thing could happen in transit. Mods should move this to the proper section and you should also provide links to the sale thread.

I'd think you asked for some pictures of the item before committing to buy. Upload those too. IMO that kind of wear and tear on equipment happens over a long duration of usage rather than due to handling during delivery.

So you mean to say you did not even look at the product before commiting a deal. You should have asked for detailed pics.

Aah..my mistake.

.I have dealt many times on TE and I never had problems..Plus he was senior member(Fanatic member)thats what made me believe that the deal will go smoothly..

Absolutely correct..I got everything broken, still I was ready to compromise but the mp3 player can't hold the charge for even few minutes..

damm... looking at the condition of the player, i wouldn't even pay 600 for it...

It has indeed been used 'hardly'... no wonder its not working...

I think the seller should refund the whole amount back... also @darksmart: you should have atleast asked for a pic of the product... how can you buy something without even seeing it??

Thants what mistake I did and I am repenting..Forget refund, the seller Asheet is demanding more money from me for shipping the correct armband and earphones..and again he is continuosly saying that mp3 player works fine.

I do not think Fanatic member is some category here. Its the custom message which one can put after certain posts.

Now back to topic; ask him to reply here; in worst case scenario you may try reaching out for some members who lives near to his place; if some one agrees off course.

Its highly recommended to get the pics before buying anything, even if its for under 1k, try contacting members living close to his place...

I am pretty sure your money is gone. I have personally dealt with this guy and he wouldn't give a damn once his product is sold. The fact that he is not replying here proves it. Dont remember the flat number but he lives in Jalvayu Vihar, hirananadani, Powai, Mumbai. I visited his place about 2 years back.

#mr.asheet. hone your negotiating skills here in the open rather than talking in PM's. Come on clear your name. In your age, people become more charitable types.

#darksmart, im pretty sure he isnt going to reply here. Leave a negative feedback and learn from this experience.

Even I had dealt with #Asheet ( I guess you talked with Sanjay ) , had a deal where I picked up a 5800 from his place at powai & same address as mentioned by Aladdin , 2 years back though, but he was decent to me & found him supportive.

Though I cant understand why is #asheet doing this just for matter of Rs.600? Sanjay, if you are reading this plz resolve the matter, why let yourself down for just Rs.600?

^^ Its not about a question of Rs 600 alone.

Attitude and nature with which deals are completed/struck is important. I wouldnt want a single rupee of mine to be going down the drain.

Indeed its a lot a pain when our own money goes down the drain & seller gives no damn about it.

But whats more shocking is the way #asheet is behaving here for this deal, not replying here at all & clearing some air out of the situation.

Also why are not the Market mods not intervening to make asheet clear his side?

His not replying is a clear sign of agreeing to have sent a faulty item, Decision on the mods now about this matter.
