GPRS on Blackberry os 7?

Dear friends

I would like to buy a new blackberry phone for me but i want to some info first.I can subscribe the blackberry messenger service but not the internet service for long period as it is huge expense.

I have heard that you can use GPRS on the blackberry for the purpose of internet is it possible on OS 7 i have searched a lot and i can only find ways for os 6 and previous versions .If you can help me please do it.

I will be using the device for emails social networking and some documents
