I want to be able to use it on my ATI 1800XT 256 mb card..

what do u think of the Antec cooler...will it be able to reduce 5 deg of 1800XT

No way thats goona reduce 5C. And FYI Its a PCB cooler, It will only keep ur PCB cool by 2-3C.

You can just buy two cheap 80mm fans, some cable ties and get the same effect as that cooler for 1/5th the price.

Stock cooler on X1800XT is sufficient. Make sure you set the fan speed to 100% with the help of Riva Tuner, it may get noisy, but it will cool down the chip by good difference. Although, adding more fans in the case, will probably help.
