Hey guys i recently got a new amd buldozer build and was looking for a gpu under 10k

my screen is 19" with native resolution 1400x900

am not a hard core gamer but would love to try some currently playing cs 1.6 and mw2

i'll be using nearly all adobe products and max n maya on this system

currently shortlisted 6850 and 7770

what else can i consider under this budget will cuda help much in adobe programs ,if i go with nvidia ?

I saw a 7770 card listed at smc @8200/- . IMO, that card is not worth buying more than that price. If you are willing to go a bit extra, there's the 6870 @11.5k. Otherwise the 6850 is the best bet.

are you talking about the Gigabyte card 7770 ?

Recommend you extend your budget Sire and go for the nVidia GTX 56 [non-Ti] ~10500/-. The nVidia plugins for Adobe and Autodesk softwares are better than what AMD provides.

Although CUDA doesn't factor here directly, nVidia owns Mental-RAY and I-Ray the two most popular render ports to Autodesk products and provides de-facto plug-ins for the same, so I recommend you go for the GTX 560 over any AMD cards.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

any kepler releases in next month which comes in my budget ?

Difficult Sire, if you plan to go to Kepler OR Souther Islands for your new upgrade put the plans on hold till ~August so that the price stabilizes.

Also Kepler will not release its budget offerings till that time period [if all goes without hitch and nVidia has sufficient silicon harvests].

Expect HD 78** series prices plummet whence the Kepler mid-range makes a debut. This will also make older Fermi based GPUs even more palatable.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

The GTX 560Ti is the best bet if you want to have credible power for future titles, but the real deal is with the AMD HD 7850 2GB if we just knew when it release and what is the pricing like.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

A wise choice in the end, the 6870 will satisfy your needs for at least a year, and maybe 2 at med-settings.
