I have 2 1TB Seagate hard disk on my computer. All of a sudden today my secondary hard disk wouldn't show up in Explorer.

I changed the sata port of the second disk and rebooted. Now the system booted in around 20 minutes and the disk showed up. But the system started freezing all the time.

How can I recover data from it. Pls advise. Incidentally , I have HD Sentinel installed and it was showing its health as excellent till yesterday.

Update.

Though its not showing in explorer and recuva, the drive is showing in eauseus data recovery. I am running win 8.1. I have not tried recovery as i have heard linux tools are better and more reliable.

Can someone suggest some easy to use linux bootable recovery guides and software.
 
Eauseus data recovery is very best when recovering lost and formatted volumes/partitions etc.
If you can recall what all partitions were there on your disk then recover them by eauseus.
