I am currently on the lookout for a good monitor in the 27"-30" bracket and while browsing i came across a brand called Hazro that manufacturers high end displays.

They use the the same panel as the Apple IPS 27" and 30" but are cheaper than even Dell ones by a hefty margin. Unfortunately they are only available in the UK and selected EU countries.

Is anyone interested in getting these down here. Maybe a large quantity order will help us offset the shipping costs which is about 140$ in SnS (excluding customs at 15%)

It can be a cheaper alternative to the Dell which retails here for 44000/- for the u2711 and 69000/- for the u3011.

^^ Too risky and if the monitor gets damaged while in transit OR shipping, you've already written of the warranty on them by shipping them here.

Agreed on this part. Not to mention the customs duties being levied on the displays. Not worth the ordeal IMO.

It's a different story if someone can lurk one while headed back to India from the EU/UK. Hazro makes very good displays and constantly garner praises from popular reviewers such as hdtvtest, cnet etc.

Actually, it's not. They use the exact same panels. Except, afaik, Hazro has MUCH more stringent QC measures in place.
