Hi,
I am using PS3 Media Server to stream HD videos to my PS3. However I am getting stuttering when playing HD content.
HD videos play fine on my PC. Tried 1080/720 mkv files and a 1080 m2ts file. CPU utilization is about 15% on average.
My pc config is:
- AMD Phenom x4 965 BE quad core at 3.4 GHz
- 4 GB RAM
- On board ATI HD4200 GPU (this uses about 350 MB of main memory)
Initially I was streaming over Wifi 802.11g and I thought that might be the bottleneck. Tried connecting PS3 to wifi router using ethernet cable.
However stuttering is still there. The CPU utilization on all cores goes to above 95%!!
CPU utilization on all 4 cores wqas consistently above 95% and Network utilization in task manager did not go above 60%. So looks like CPU cant keep up with the transcoding.
Has anyone tried this with similar configuration? Is the CPU not sufficient for full HD transcoding? Is it possible to solve this using current config?
Wasnt sure where to put this so put it in console gaming thread, mods, please move wherever suitable.
