Hi,

My 500 gb seagate sata hdd (7200.11) is not recognised by bios.Tried it as a slave in a friends machine but no access.Am planning to connect the same as a external hdd via a hard disk casing. Will i be able to access and retrieve data that way

Thanks

^^ I have a couple of doubts about this
can you make a sata drive slave?? i thought you don't have any jumper to set in sata drives(I am asking cuz I don't know)
Secondly, what motherboard do you have?

The reason I am asking this is that I have an MSI p35 neo and there are 2 ports that are controlled by a different controller so I cannot see them where the other 4 ports are listed in the bios. but it worked fine for me.

My motherboard is MSI K9AGM3 and as far as the jumper is concerned , in the SATA drives you can only change the rate of data transfer by using the jumper or without it.I tried to make the HDD slave but it is not detected in the bios anyway.

Thanks
