I have recently build a new rig . I have 2 HDD's Western digital 320gb + seagate 250 gb bth sata . My question when i check my HDD temperature using softwares like speedfan or everest home , the hdd temperature for both drives is around 48c . Is it ok , since the ambient and mobo temp is around 30c . I installed a 90mm fan blowing fresh air inside but tem of hdd has decrased by just 2c so now it is around 44-46c .

Anything below 45 is quite ok. By the way i am in chennai and the normal room temperature is around 28-32 degrees. My HDD temperature is around 40 and it runs without a problem.

Try using AC whenever you play to keep the temperature down. You could not do much to bring the temperature below 35 degress

I use zebronics Lava cabi which is cheap but modified to add 3 extra fans... Chennai is a hot place dude and even if you run AC you cannot achieve the HDD to run less than 32 degress

48C is indeed high. Try to cool them by running a 120mm fan in front or at the rear of the HDD's.

Ideally they should be run under 40C for longevity.

I am using a cheap intex ( nova n) cabinet . I installed a 90mm local fan and hdd temperature dropped from 50-47 on load . Can i get a good fan around 200-250 bucks . Also my cooler master psu throws out hot air from the cabinet .
Rest of my rig runs just fine , mobo around 28c and cpu a 40c but i dont understand the reason for high hdd temsps , can it be a hardware problem ?
