Hi techies,

Recently i upgraded my system components motherboard and monitor, all went ok except a minor problem, hope your experience will resolve my problem, if you own components of same nature.

1: Once i connect a VGA cable on both ends, every thing works fine

2:I connect a DVI cable between board and monitor, all comes perfect

3:now here is the problem, once i connect a HDMI Cable between board and monitor, the screen comes all green, disconnect, reconnect, restart, changing output on monitor, using a DVI-HDMI Connector, nothing worked, still comes all green.

Plz help to resolve it.

Specification:

Board: Asus M3A78-EM( DVI,HDMI Port)

Monitor: Dell S2409 wide full HD(DVI,HDMI,VGA port)

With regards

see if you can try with a different source, else looks like somethings wrong with the monitor, no hands on experience with the monitor though

thanks for reply, it seems to me that monitor is ok,once you disconnect HDMI, everything works perfect on VGA and DVI Ports, on these two ports screen comes normal, once you connect a HDMI Cable, the monitor recognise the input as HDMI, but screen becomes green.

Did you try another cable? Could be the issue with bad cable and monitor not receiving proper signals and going crazy. Just a thought.

Just to be sure, see if you can get extra cable... just for testing. And by another I mean another brand or something. There are many cheap HDMI cables in market, it's quite possible you might have gotten dud. Too bad it's not available in your home town, else you could get one without paying from friend or even some dealer who you know well.

Buy 1.5 meter HDMI cable from Ebay Rs. 400 shipped :)
