I am connecting the videocon D2H HD box, to Dell 20 inch monitor through a HDMI cable with a DVI connector at the monitor end. I am unable to get a display and there is some type of monitor resolution error. The frequency of monitor is of 60 Hz while that of the STB is 50 HZ.

Is there any solution on how I can get the display on the monitor??
If I purchase a new led monitor which has HDMI port and connect the STB to the monitor through HDMI cable, would it work ??

thnks and regards

Do you have a TV handy? Connect to TV using RCA cable and monitor with HDMI cable at the same time. Go to settings and change HDMI settings and check at what setting your monitor turns on. If you don't have TV, then check what resolution and frequency (50 or 60 Hz) is supported by monitor. Then take your STB to another place, where you can connect it using RCA cable. Adjust the settings to supported resolution/freq. Come back and connect to Monitor and see if it works.
