AD-700 has that requirement fully covered. It looks big & heavy in person, but once its on your head, it feels pretty light. More importantly, its very comfortable for long sessions.
You can't go wrong with AD-700 in terms of comfort. The only question is whether you'll like its sound signature. It is a bit light on bass, and has an expansive soundstage. If you aren't a bass-head, I'd say go ahead.
I have very limited knowledge of headphones. Besides, I prefer watching movies in HT. Even when I watched it way back when in PC, I preferred using 5.1 speakers. So, it's not right for me to suggest about something I don't have a clue about.
I have read that AD700's positioning is very good, especially with gaming. So, positional effects in movies should turn out well with AD700's sound stage. OTOH, movies require good low bass which would not be found in AD700. I am guessing dialogues should be clear with AD700 though. I am not sure if AD900 is available locally, but that is supposed to be similar to AD700 + more bass. May be you can look at it.
That's the best I can do from all the guesswork. Hope others would chip in with better suggestions
I'm happy with the bass of my existing AT M35. I do not like too much boom boom but some amount of decent bass should be there.
Hope AD-700 would be adequate in this regard.
How about this, since I will mostly watch movies on the headphone, why not go for a 5.1 one ?
Instead of AD-700 if I were to go for a 5.1 headphone would it be a good idea. What options are there in 5k range.
