HELP building Full HD Dual Monitor 24''/+ with USB3 and SATA 6gb 2X SSD(RAID 0) @100k

Silent Shout

Disciple
Hello
GOAL:I am building a Dual Monitor (same size and same brand? 24inch/more) with single/dual GPU setup(dual GPU only if necessary)
I want to use SSD (indilinx/barefoot any good controller) on RAID 0
USB 3 and SATA 6Gbps and onboard RAID.onboard wifi N

Q: What is your intended use for this PC/hardware

This system/server will also run 2 PCI/ PCIe based realtime DVR compression(one D1 and other 1/2 D1) cards for CCTV. It will use H.264 compression and dedicated HDD space. Dahua/Hikvision
Card 1 Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co., Ltd.
Card 2 Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co., Ltd.

The system will also function as pentaplex CCTV system where remote viewing is possible.

So sytem will be connected to Broadband Bonding Network Appliance Mushroom Networks, Inc.

It will also be connected to presently one and in the future two Full HD LCD tvs for CCTV monitoring.

Fast Data encryption and Decryption capability.

I will also need this system(Server) to run a custom software solution with 4 client machines on LAN feeding data to it. Data will only be stored on Server and not on client and only admin can modify data.I will also attach multiple currently (3) biometric Time & attendance Recorder with Access Control machines via LAN. NITGEN & COMPANY
It will also run acess manager software.
NITGEN & COMPANY

It will also serve as one way SMS Gateway as I will be attaching a GSM modem to it.

It will act as web server when bandwidth gets cheaper. :p

So system has to be reliable.

Presently I am going to use it at home and will put it in office after 2 months. I am planning to run this as Linux based box.
Secondary use : Browsing, Desktop Processing, HTPCDownload rig(only if extra bandwidth available , 24x7 operation Watching HD movies(sometimes)

Q: What is the purpose of dual monitor system : Spanning as well as mirroring extended desktop
Desktop productivity and research on BOTH monitors or watching 1080p movie on second while working.
I have a lot of data open(multitasking) so want Fast RAM and a good SSD for quick browsing through 100s of TABs(chrome and FF), 10s of open PDF files, word files, excel spreadshit, accounting software, you tube videos ON 1 Display while doing similar stuff, or watching 1080p rip ON SECOND Display.
Q:Budget:
100K

My Current Setup: Processor intel Q 6600 2.4Ghz / .MB .Asus P5k deluxe(P35) / RAM 2X2GB DDR II 667 Transcend /GPU Nvidia 7900 GS / HDD 640GB WD Green X 2 / Display single monitor Acer AL2216W /PSU Antec neopower HE 500/ O.S. win XP
(I have about 30-60% CPU utilization most of the time with upto 6 GB pagefile used :S)
Q:Requirements: I have an OPEN MIND

Processor for Multitasking and multi threading
corei7 or Phenom II good OC but basically should run fast on stock.
M/B OC capablewith USB 3 SATA 6 Gbps RAID and good OCing and if possible Wifi N and bluetooth (optional) minimum 6 SATA ports( Two LAN ports optional)

CPU cooler: would prefer liquid cooling for both CPU and GPU else good air CPU cooler , (if feasible fanless dustfree liquid cooling solution optional)

I want to keep this expensive machinery in lock with limited ventilation so i want a system that doesn't heat up too much.

RAM 12 GB -16 GB tight timings and reliable pls suggest a compatible RAM DDR III triple/dual channel

GPU:single/double(crossfire/sli) you suggest, No gaming so whatever supports DUAL DVI/HDMI setup in leftover budget will do. ATI/Nvidia with Double 1080p H264 playback on two monitors. Would prefer Eyefinity based card with support for 4 HD devices.

HDD: SSD X 2 in RAID 0(size depends on budget) should run OS and about 60GB softwares , will use 2X640GB WD green from old PC as back up drives. And add 2X 2TB WD black later date.

Cabinet: Any Non gaudy quiet no LED please as far as possible (or option to switch them off)

Monitor: 2X24 inches or more in size full HD LCD/LED same make, resolution should be good for viewing HD movies

PSU: Please suggest a suitable one modular or non. Considering all the req.

Optical Drive: old LG PATA DVD RW / new SATA DVD RW

Mouse KB: old wireless iball laser

Q: Final configuration?
No will add more 2 SSD as prices drop and increase RAID array and 2 LCD TVs and 2XWD black 2TB

Q: Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City/TE Dealer)
Option 1 : IBM/Dell ( if they have what I need for good price)
option 2: Custom system Mumbai Lamington road from a dealer who will assemble the product ensuring compatibility and will provide good A.S.S as well as OC the system, :hap2:
Purchase from TE dealer subject to costing and Reliability and A.S.S. (Mumbai based only)

Q:Gaming
Rare gaming(almost never). No graphics editing either. But as I am going to attach 2 HD monitors and one or two LCD TVs I might require a decent GPU.

Q:OC?
Overclock only if I get 100% stable system.Stability important.

Q:OS?
Linux (i want TRIM support on RAID 0+1) Software based (unless new RAID controllers support it HW)
OS windows 7(for trimming- SSD) I will use ultramon software on RAID 0

Q:preferred monitor resolution?
Full HD/native on Both

Thanks for reading now Please Reply :p ,
suggestions welcome pls give me options.
ty

EDIT : Finally added all requirements. Please help me to build this complex system.

Re: HELP building Full HD Dual Monitor 24''/+ with USB3 and SATA 6gb 2X SSD(RAID 0) @

Thanx labrador , budget is good but if I could cut 10k here n there ll be even better.:p

Monitor: Benq 16:9 looks promising but I would prefer at least one of the two monitors I am getting , with Portrait mode swivel adjustable.

"cpu - Amd Phenom II x6 1090t - 14000 mobo - msi 890fxa-gd 70 - 11000"
Good combination I suppose it is better than Gigabyte 890fx board?

"ram - Gskill 6GB 1600 DDR3 Trident Kit - 10000" Ok. I couldnt find 12 Gb triple channel kit. Is it available, what cost?

"gpu - msi r5770 hawk - 10000" or should I go with the one with Eyefinity 6 Saphire 5870 card? Any other GPU(cheaper) with eyefinity upto 4 support available?

"hsf - h50 - 4500
cabinet - COOLER MASTER Elite 341 - 2000
psu - corsair hx620 - 7500"
OK

About SSD, Is OCZ V2 available in India? should I go for sata 6 gbps capable SSDs? They anyways cost a bomb. I want to put my SSDs on RAID 0. :cool2:

Only one reply ! I thoght this thread would turn into AMD vs Intel price 2 price comparision discussion.
Titles like 'gaming rig', 'Urgent:help" get a lot of replies. :S
URGENT HELP period. :p
Keep replys coming guys.:p

Re: HELP building Full HD Dual Monitor 24''/+ with USB3 and SATA 6gb 2X SSD(RAID 0) @

np

i think you should ask other members about monitors

the gigabyte 890fxa-ud7 and msi 890fx are more or less the same..if you want to save costs go for the 890fxa-ud5

i couldnt find 12gb so suggested 6..i think u shud be ok however if you really want 12gb be ready to shell out 20-30k,in india there is a gskill 4gb stick(ripjaws) 1600mhz for 10k(too much) if u buy 3 then 30k(but you get 12gb ram)

no there isnt any chepaer one except the powercolour(i think) eyefinity 5 5770 i dont think its available here..and seriously a 5770 would be too weak to power 4 to 5 displays

ssd i couldnt find a better price/storage ratio, only intel ssd's give 160gb of storage at 24k

btw intel ssd's are supposed to be one of the best....

Re: HELP building Full HD Dual Monitor 24''/+ with USB3 and SATA 6gb 2X SSD(RAID 0) @

Some1 please suggest me a good 2 X 22 inch and more height/rotation swivel adjustable portrait mode capable monitors?

Eyefinity 6 Saphire 5870 - 29,000 worth the price? I dont game and I only plan 2 have 2 displays at present and may add at the max third after 6 months?

@labrador?

Rest all is good I only need about 60-80 Gb HDD at the max for OS so a smaller size SSD might do. Should I wait for SATA 6 Gbps SSD? Cant wait for long though. I only know as per their web prime ABGB sells only Intel Gskill Corsair and Solid data SSDs. Where can I find OCZ ssd?

@DARKANGEL you too please suggest me a system in your trademark tabular format. :p

Re: HELP building Full HD Dual Monitor 24''/+ with USB3 and SATA 6gb 2X SSD(RAID 0) @

^^dont think ocz ssd's are available in india the eyfinity 6 is not worth it...

sata 6gbps ssd's are going to be extremely expensive not worth it...

u save 12k if u go with only 1 ssd..so total 88k..trust me a normal ssd is very fast..ull be ok

AES 256 bit,
Interesting read.
I am also going to use my PC to run 2 DVR compression cards hardware based for CCTV operations at later date. I want a rock solid stable system to run for 24hrs. So should I wait for intel 7i with 6 cores at economical price?
Thanx

Re: HELP building Full HD Dual Monitor 24''/+ with USB3 and SATA 6gb 2X SSD(RAID 0) @

i7 970 would be released in Q3 2010 (~ september) and be around 27k. if you can't wait just go with the LGA1366 platform, so that you can upgrade to that 6 core i7 970 after a few months if you feel the need for it. LGA1366 has triple channel RAM support so more memory bandwidth.

and btw SSD's in RAID doesnot have TRIM function at present, that is a disadvantage. also SATA 6gbps ssd's are really an overkill and not perfect. Corsair Force Series SATA 3gbps SSD's are good (sanforce controller), you can get the 60GB one (PrimeABGB has this).

and a mainstream ATI 5 Series Card would do 3 monitor Eyefinity. only if you are planning to hook up 6 monitors, you need the Eyefinity 6 port card ;)

very complicated rquirements you have got man :p give some more time to settle on a config.

So basically i7 970 with high bandwidth triple channel memory is more suitable for my app. As far as my understanding goes intel core i7 (where 4 core or 6)would be much better at Data encryption and for running a 2 realtime DVR compression cards for CCTV than an current AMD platfrom. Please correct me If i am wrong.

That is sad indeed. What about software based RAID 0 or 0+1? Even if RAID 0 is not possible I would want atleast RAID 1 as I need to back up main drive.

I am seriously considering running Linux based box as I have limited no. of applications to run and almost all my softwares support linux.

Presently I require 2 monitors for desktop and one LCD TV for CCTV viewing. Later date I will require 2 LCD tvs for viewing.
