hai ,

I am new thread in this site. I am very poor in computer hardwares :no: one of my friend ask help from me and i put her question here so that i can get ans to help her. she need good graphic card

which is better XFX 8600GT 512MB DDR2 or XFX 8600GT 256MB DDR3

what about MSI R4350 D 512H DDR2??

anything good in the ATI gfx card??? or is it Nvidia all the way??

shall i get ans fast please... bcos i dont have idea on this

First welcome to forms.

Well tell your friend to extend budget 500 bucks more and get Nvidia 9500GT 512MB DDR3.This card will perform better then any 3 above you listed.Stay away from DDR2 memory based GPU.

In ATI hunt for HD 4670/3850 512MB DDR3, these will cost more and easily outperform any of above mentioned cards.If you have budget for 6k around go for Nvidia 9600GT 512MB DDR3 with eyes closed.

What SMPS your friend going to use with GPU?

she can spend 3-4 in this range 256MB DDR3 is available right or any other suggestions is there i welcome
 
Btw, what do you need the gfx card for? These cards are oriented toward gaming. For videos/rendering/2d they won't give much extra from what I understand.

For under 4k I guess the 9500gt is the best performer. If you can get the 8600gt ddr3 easily then go for it anyway.
