I just sold my aiw x1800xl (2 days back)...got 20k for it btw...
Could somebody let me know if it is a good price i got for this card ?

for now, I'm stuck with an onboard 6100 :( ....which does not do any justice to my monitor.

So, now I'm in the market for a new GPU....:)
My budget suggests gettin' a x1800xt 512mb (so, you guys can do the math), but my heart belongs to x1900xt... Price difference between the 2 is around $140 USD

The to 2 games I mostly (these days) play are CSS & NFSMW.
I plan to play these at 1680 x 1050 (or the closest possible alternative).

So, what I would like to know is how much difference would there be between the 2 cards I've shortlisted at the resolution I intend to play ?
I am totally confused
So, any help (what so ever) would be appriciated.:)

I have a dell 2005fpw.

What I would like to know is how much difference will ther be between the 2 ?

& is it worth spending the extra $135 ?

I'll probably be upgrading within the next 12-14 months.

^^ thnx Chaos

& thnx undertaker

You guys have made my desicion a bit easy...:D

more thoughts & suggestions are always welcome & appriciated :)

X1800XT 512MB for $300 undoubtedly :D !

Edit : If you can wait for a a while, you'll probably get the X1900GT for that price..;)

^^ I doubt the x1900GT will keep up with the x1800xt. Let alone the 7900GT.
Those 12 Pipe's are really gonna hurt it. Lets hope its unlockable :hap2:

I would suggest spend 5K more and get the x1900xt.
The RD 580 core of x1900 is much more advanced then the RD 530 core of the x1800 series. infact x1800 series will be EOL (end of life) very soon or might have been already discontinued.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm getting the X1800XT 512MB soon;only kicker is that 7600GT is down to almost $160;making both of them irreristable deals!!!

7600GT @ 160$!!! OMG!!! :hap2:

Nway, i think if you can spare the cash go for the X1900XT.. No brainer here.

The X1900XT is faster and will definately have a larger life span.. Expect more optimizations for the X1900XT in newer games too.. This would increase the performance gap between the two cards in the future.
Moreover the 512 MB doesnt make much of a difference in most games available as of now..

Sirji, I think u mean R530 and R580 :)

Well dude, you got money then get X1900XT, it makes sense in getting the best of the time when you can....

I am playing the waiting game.....newegg isn't going anywhere and neither am I!Hmm...a 512MbX1800XT vs 2gb+7600Gt which do u guyz think is better?The 7600GT won't be much of a difference from my OC'ed 6800GS anyway(maybe 10% max.)

Hard to call it that;difference between the XFX XXX edition and my OC'ed card is less than 5% in most cases. The 7600GT has an advantage due to clockspeed;if the 6800GS were clocked in the 540-550Mhz region there would be no difference at all!
