Guys i did this before between xp and 7 but it isnt happning between 2008 and 7.

I have 2 NIC on win 2k8 desktop. And win 7 is a laptop.

I use hathway I'net and it requires login via its http address page.

Using NIC 1 (onboard) i connect to internet and the ip is set to auto by the isp so i cant assign manual ip to it.

The other NIC 2, is used to connect to laptop as p2p file sharing and it works just fine.

The following is my current ip config:

---pc-- NIC 2

ip 192.168.0.1

subnet 255.255.255.0

gateway 192.168.0.2

primary dns 4.2.2.2

---lappy

ip 192.168.0.3

subnet 255.255.255.0

gateway 192.168.0.2

primary dns 4.2.2.2

Which connection needs to be selected for ICS? i tried selecting both but still it dint worked.

I turned off firewall for both systems but nothing helped either.

What worked was bridging the both nic connections but the main problem was, i was only able to use I'net on either pc or lappy but not simultaneously on both.

Still i dont want bridging but a simple ics to happen.

I googled but seriously dint found any proper solution having my setup scenario.

Plz guide me guys step by step.

I even tried setting laptop lan ip to auto but still only p2p file sharing works and able to browse files to and fro but inetrnet isnt accessible yet.

Just a single reply....i guess this was one of the toughest queries asked here
