CPU/Mobo Help me with this guys....

This is my current config

AMD Athlon64 3200+
Asus A8NE
Transcend 1*1GB DDR400
6600GT

I am thinkin of upgrading. I think the board is good enuf for my needs so that stays...
I wanna upgrade the proccy to X2 and get another 1gb stick. Also lookin to get a higher gfx card.
I ve got 8k extra at my disposal.
What do you suggest???
 
let's see..

proccy - 1.5-2k max(maybe a bit more if you're lucky)
graphics card - 4-4.5k

that adds up to a max of 6-6.5k:cool2:

together with your 8k, u've got around 14.5k max:cool2: :cool2:

a second hand x2 3800 will cost you just below 7k here in TE, and that leaves you with a bit over 7k, enough for a 7600gt from sparkle..or a x1800xt right here on TE(a damned good deal if you ask me, not sure if its still there though. check it out here)..

now the other option is to sell your entire rig and go the am2 way. that way youll have
proccy - 2k
mobo - 2-2.5k
ram - 3k
gpu - 4-4.5k

sums up to ..... just below or maybe upto 20k ??(with the 8k you have):huh:

that will get you

athlon64x2 3800(am2) - 4k
Biostar TA690G/Jetway M2A692-GDG/Asus m2n-mx - 3.6-4k
2gigs of transcend ddr2533 - 5k
leaves you with the same amount of cash for the grfx card, and hence the same options..:)

if i were you, i'd go the am2 way.

and yeah..the Jetway mobo seems to be very good..;)
