hello Guys.....

I am in a fix. my brother needs a 3d card to buy ! but we are not able to decide which one to buy.

if we go for DX10 then i think we lose on the performance coz 8600 series i think flopped.

and if dx9 we lose eye candy :D

so hence please suggest a 3d card for the price of 10k !

please waiting for ur suggestions !
 
Get a 7900GS

the XFX 8600GT Fatal1ty is a good card too, not as good a performer then the 7900GS but a heatpipe only card IIRC...completely silent

7900GT is around 12 to13k in the market IIRC

7900GS is close to its performane and costs abt 8k these days, amazing VFM and is way better then the 8600GT and mildly better then the 8600GTS
 
Correct me if I am wrong..but it doesn't make sense sense buying a DX-10 card for a Windows XP system as there is no DX-10 on XP...or are they planning on releasing it for XP?
 
@dafreaking....... they are not going to release DX10 thing for windows xp .. not now and not in future !

so for u i will recommend get a better 7 series card ! by the way just confirmed galaxy 7950gt for 13k only !

but still out of my budget :(
 
@dingemini312 i too am in the same fix .....:(, and there are some reviews saying an OCed 8600gt is almost as good as 7900GS(but not better). plus you can get HDCP + HD acceleration + DX 10 support. s i am going 8600GT way (i will go for this because i wont upgrade for next 2 years ).
 
definitely not, but AFAIK it can support games of today at high gfx at resolutions of 1024 and less at playable frame rates.
 
correct me if im wrong but wont a 8600gts card be better than 7900gs.7900gt is out of his budget of 10k.8600gts may not be vfm but for 10k unless u import it from somewhere outside india i dont think ull get a better card..once nvidia optimizes its drivers further of course

indrajeet thats the main problem yar !
the issue is that ... in all of the review even the 8600gts gets beaten from 7900gs.
and tat just makes me think again and again wat to buy :E

Damn Nvidia ... n this is all happening bcoz they applied that 128bit thing instead of 256bit ......... which wud had not cost them anything big nor to us...

8600 series FLOPPED as per most of review... even the Extremely overclocked version fail due to this thing in front of 7900 series
 
Well the 8600GT is now available for 7200, certainly better VFM then the 8500GT and especially 7600GT which costs nearly the same and nearly hallf the performance.

the 8600GT might be no winner when it comes to performance, but thats the situation in this generation of cards, so accept the fact and hope that the next gen brings out something like the 6600GT or the Ti 4200 in their respective timelines.
