these cards won't give extra performance with 512mb, for that you need 7800GTX class gpus.

Your best bet would be Geforce 7600GT/X1800XTO for 12.5k-14k approx, reviews:
xbitlabs.com/articles/video, though the scores here are unrealistic, you may get a approx ratio of performance of the cards

or 6800GS for about 11k
all these are 256mb, 512mb 6800gs arnd 13k, may not be worth it

keep in mind that these cards can't play todays games with all settings maxed out at 1024*768, and I am not talking of aa and af.

What slot do u have on your motherboard, PCI-Express or AGP? You cant go for any one of them as you like, only the one thats present on your motherboard.

If its PCI Express get a 7600 GS for 8.5k or a 7600 GT for 12k.

If its AGP go for either a 6600 GT for 8k or a 6800 GS for 11k.

Go for the 7600gt. Far better choice than the 6 series of cards. Also saw sapphire radeon series of cards in sp road a few days back. Check for their prices as regards the 1800gto if available.

As for agp or pci-e it depends on your motherboard. Check the motherboard manual. It will be mentioned.:hap2:

a 6800 ultra is most likely faster but they will be obscenely expensive....given a choice take the 7600gt best value for money....

didn't you understand.
stay away from all radeon cards which are not 1800GTO or better
as for nvidia, go either with geforce 7* gpus or 6800GS 256mb
* select gpus

don't even think about any other graphic card

thanks guys...but u havn't told me nythin abt the two cards in the first thread....

Dont just go by the memory, just because its 512 MB doesnt mean its any good. For example i can show you a 128 MB card that will beat those 512 MB cards. It depends on the GPU(Graphics processing unit) thats on the card.

In your case, go by the choices ive mentioned, depending on your budget.
If its PCI Express get a 7600 GS for 8.5k or a 7600 GT for 12k.

If its AGP go for either a 6600 GT for 8k or a 6800 GS for 11k.

They are all 256 MB cards(the 6600 GT also comes in 128 MB version but its an aeging card and not a good choice to go for). For the best performance get either the 7600 GT for PCIE or 6800 GS for AGP.
