Help needed in UK

Hey guys,

I have recently moved to UK and am without a good lappy. I have a official laptop which is utter crap. So, i want to buy a PC here for gaming and movies.
Days gone since i have seen a HD movie. Getting bored here :p

If i buy a new one, i would have to spend a lot, so thinking of a used option.
Saw ebay but the trust factor is a little less ;)

Can anyone help me out with some forums or sale boards or market sections similar to TE in UK? So that i can get some good stuff for neat prices?

Just to let u know guys, the place i am in, i am unable to see a single proper PC shop till now. Nowhere are the shops like in India where u get everything.

So, fellow mates, please rescue me from my misery :)

Guess u haven't visited any of the Curry's or PC World outlets.. just visit their website n see the location of the stores.. n what did u expect there which was in India?? a Lamington road or something?? :p

-1 to people who think they will find shops like lamington road or shops like in other indian cities......even in 'proper' central london you will find entire streets filled up shopping malls of clothes - clothes and only clothes.......and way at the corner somewhere u might find one teeny - meeny electronic store.....

@PhOeNiX : don't keep reminding of london every now and then   :drool2:

The name "Maplin's" was also recommended to me - Curry's doesnt seem to be that popular. PCWorld and Argos seem to be decent (Argos is more like general electronics)...

Thanks everyone for the responses :D

Well, i have tried these sites in addition to ebuyer, overclockers, pc specialist and so on. But all these sell new stuff only.

I want some site where i can find used stuff. I saw some in ebay but i am not a particular ebay fan :( However, if i don't find anything else, i'll go for ebay.

I didn't expect markets like Lammy or S.P. Road but atleast expected a proper computer shop somewhere. I went to Dixons, maplin and Tesco, but there are very less components for desktops. There are so many laptops but no desktops and neither good mobos and graphics cards.

Anyway, do u guys know of any sites which have some kind of market section like in TE (this is a little dependable than ebay)?

Again, thanks everyone for replying :)
