HELP:Oracle9i on lan?..

How do i set up oracle 9i on lan?..
Ive installed a full standard package (~2.80 gb) on my main xp system..& there is Oracle client installed on VMWARE systems..
I need help & step by step procedure to connect client & the server...( VMware also running xp )
Please help me ... this is very important for my project..which deadline is pretty near..

im a complete noob in Oracle thingy.....sorry..

wat ive done is install oracle with all default settings ( ports & directorys .. ) into a server in a LAN ... the other systems are installed with the client part of the oracle..

I want to know the next steps..

please help me..
