Help Req.! Upgrading from HTC P3400

Hi guys..

i've been using an HTC P3400 for a little over a year.

Thinking of upgrading for a while.

Need a touchscreen (:P).
Aaand the P3400 has got a 2.8" screen, so anything less would be slightly uncomfy, but i'd try to adjust.
A faster proccy/more ram would be nicer
(Been using my HTC for listening to music mostly :ashamed:)
A keypad would be very much welcome (a qwerty keypad would be cooler, been somehow managing with the touchscreen keypad)
A better cam (with autofocus)
Budget:The lesser the better.. max Rs.12k
Just heard of the Asus P320(someone's selling it in the market section).
Its got a 2.6" screen, but is mush more compact, plus its got wifi & gps.

Are there any other good models? (i've been out of touch with the mobile scene since Dec. 2007 :s )
P.S. Could anyone tell me how much i can sell my P3400 for? its got one small scratch on the body, rest in good condition.
 
In the 12k range your options are

Asus P320 - Touchscreen

HTC Touch Viva - Touchscreen

Asus P527 - slightly higher - Touchscreen + Keypad

Asus M530w - slightly higher - QWERTY Keyboard

The first three have a 200 Mhz TMAP proccy and the last one has a 416 Mhz one , also the 2 and 3 have more RAM than the first

Also P320 and P527 have GPS and the other two dont , all have WiFi

On the default OS , P320 is a bit slow , however there are hacked ROM's available on the net which work very fast

I am in the same boat as you [sold off my moto rokr] and leaning towards the P320

oh and from the nokia stable you have the E63 , very capable phone :)

i dont need gps.. wifi would make it a little future proof..

i believe the P527 is a bit old. i guess Freaky and GMano had it about a year ago..
the m530w has no touchscreen & the Viva has no keypad :(

The P320 looks tempting!!
Does anyone know where i can buy Asus phones in chennai? :s not available on the univercell.in website..

Aaand can anyone give rough valuation for a 2nd hand phone? (to sell mine)

it'll be useful for others as well. one guy at office tried to pawn a 1.5 year old 10k touchscreen phone (he lost the stylus as well) for 9K. :| i wanted to blast him..
EDIT: selling for 8.9k on ebay.in! can use an ebay.in voucher for a good deal i bet..

Has the E55 launched yet? Supposed to have a 3.2meg cam! Scores over the E63 in this dept.
 
@Gannu: i dont even care if its the Ferrari F151.... i'll only buy it if it has a touchscreen :P

iphones wont get as cheap as 12k unless some generous user may want to donate it to you.

Check with Freaky as to where he purchased his Asus PDA phone from. He should be able to guide you.

Doesn't the ASUS P320 have the same processor as your P3400?! It's a smaller screen too! :P

If I were to switch from my P3400 to something else, I'd want a faster processor and a QWERTY keypad (or a larger touch screen). And yes, I'd prefer the iPhone if it were cheaper!

I don't know how much of WiFi you'll use but I'm guessing that the battery on the phone won't last more than a couple of hours anyway.

IMO, spend some more and get something much better (with WiFi as well) :ashamed:
 
Are you sure that you want a touchscreen.... If you are not used to touchscreen , you will find many day-today activities, (like selecting contacts) that you did on a normal phone very cumbersome. Be prepared.... :ohyeah:

BTW, if you can get a 5800 for less than 17k, its a very good VFM phone in the current market. (CAM is mediocre)

@cyberjunkie: yeah, i am looking for something better.. no point in going for features that are there in my p3400.. plus i dont need wifi as well :)

@mathew: i've gotted used to it.. cmon.. over a year with a touchscreen phone :) but i would like the flexibility of a keypad to be there as well :)
17k and the cam is mediocre? lol.. wouldnt want that..
