How did you burn the ISO?
Also is the bios set to boot from a CD?

And you have to restart after inserting the cd and let it start from the CD insread of the normal XP boot

Windows XP only allows you to burn the ISO onto an external disc.

I doubt OP knows about an image mounting software, best we start from there.

There are other softwares that allow you to use a GU Interface and adjust the partition space with a slider and the partition takes place in real-time, no need to reboot OR anything.

Example --> Download EASEUS Partition Master 9.2.1 - FileHippo.com.

Hope this helps and a Happy, Prosperous and Healthy New Year to all on this thread. Cheerio!

P.S. -- Techygeek did you get your laptop?

Got it locally from Lamington for 41.5k with a bunch of free accessories and Lenovo backpack. Also there was the redemption offer from Lenovo wherein I got 2 years extended warranty for free.

Nice man, hope it serves you well. Cheers!
