Storage Solutions Help with recovering my files on Hdd, windows crash.

Hi

A friend of mine was trying to update the BIOS on his laptop, and something got screwed up and now the windows does not start.

I need to backup some files from the hard disk to a pen drive before I format and reinstall windows.

can you please suggest me a bootable cd which can copy the files from the ntfs drive to a pen drive??

please help.
 
Go for Linux Live CDs, you will be able to recover your files then... And you will get them easily being Open Source!!! e.g. Ubuntu, open Suse etc...

Simple and fast Bootable CD is " Hiren's Boot CD" around 150-200 MB. Google it ,Write it,boot it and choose > "Boot Mini Win XP" and you're all set to go.Voila.
