Hey. Sorry for the OT but it would be great if you could tell me what did you use to drive these. Also, is the difference in loudness and audio quality massive when compared to say a phone or a motherboard with a decent audio chip?

I don't listen too loud, but I have had no problem driving these from my phone or PC because the impedance on these is on the lower side (17 ohms). I know impedance is not everything, but I feel that these are similar in ease of driving to my 32 ohm/ 50 ohm Sennheisser HD 598 SE.
They only requires 0.9 V to drive them to 110 dB of deafening listening.

Thanks a lot man.
Edit: Do you feel that these are a massive improvement over the HD598? I'm also looking to upgrade my 599 in a few months and looking at options. Is the soundstage wider?

Honestly, I don't listen to music. I only use headphones for late night TV watching. They are definitely much "airier" than 598. They are more open than those. I prefer their sound (or openness) to either HD598 or DT 880's. The only thing I don't like is the earpads. I prefer the earpad material of the other 2 headphones.
They are easier to drive than the either of the other 2 headphones. Comfort trumps sound/ease of drive for me.
You can try them pretty much risk free. You can probably sell these for almost the same amount in a couple of months. Let me know.

Alright, man. Thanks a lot. Would've definitely taken these off you but finances aren't that great right now. Will definitely contact you if something works out.
