Hi,
Can anyone recommend a 5.1 home theater set (DVD player + speakers) for around 15K.

Primary Usage: Movies

Secondary Usage: Music (with Karaoke)

FM not required....

I stay in Mumbai

There are some models in Samsung for 10-15k... and some in philips... but if audio quality is ur concern get a Alect lansing MX5021 and a DVD player from philips....
 
sony DAV 1000 or someother mdel no. i dont exactly remeber... it has 720w RMS(120W per channel and 12W sub) ... and sounds really good ... i say say this because i own this... has a decent sub for its price but the rear subs are a little weak. and I can assure u it has bbter quality and output than any other samsung theater in this range

I agree here with Trajan.

But if you want 5.1 setup, get a Philips DVD/DivX/MPEG4 player for 4.5k
(dont remember the exact model no.) and Logitech Z5300 for 11k;)
