I have Samsung Focus i917. I don't really remember with which ROM I flashed it, but I suspect it's either Clean ROM or DFT.
Is there anyway to find out which ROM it is?
Now I am selling my phone and I want to reset it and delete all my data. I don't care if phone remains on Clean or DFT ROM. In Settings > About, I see 'reset your phone'. Can I do that?
The reason I am asking is, on jailbroken iPhones you should NOT reset it like that, it would send the phone to a boot loop. Is it similar in case of Windows? or is it safe to do it?
XDA Wiki on Focus also mentions resetting via:
Hard Reset: Samsung Focus will be returned to its original state with full data wipe.
Method 1: (PREFERRED) Dial ##634# from the phone pad press the call button when the diagnostic screen appears type *2767*3855# to preform a full restore.
Method 2: Hold down the Power button, volume down button, and camera button
Method 3: Go to the Start screen, select Settings. Select the About screen. Select 'reset your phone' This method is not for fully recovery as method 1 and 2. Factory setting will be restored, but not deleted programs. Some issues are remain after this recovery method.
but do these apply when I am on some ROM, not factory default ROM?
